“Opera and Dance”
Oh, I went to the opera the other day.
I couldn’t understand a word that they say.
It was in a foreign tongue that I never learned.
I paid a hundred fifty dollars for those tickets and I feel burned.

I should have gone to the dance instead
because I understand what it means when they spin the girl on her head.
That’s a language that I understand cause I’m a physical man.
Next time I pay money, I go to dance, I don’t be funny,
I don’t go to opera, oh no, oh no.
I don’t go to opera, oh no, oh no.

I went to the dance and I saw a ballerina.
She had a pink tutu, and some tights, her name was Gina.
She jumped into the air, and snow flakes fell on her hair,
and then her prince caught her in his arms. His name was Hank.

That dance inspired me and I said, I can dance, I can sing.
So now I‘m headed for Broadway.
Oh yea, I’m gonna be an opera star that dances, because I can do it all,
I mean shouldn’t they just bring a little more of what I lead into opera these days,
I mean, because I do opera and I do the dance.
So now I love opera...
[Oh yeah]
I love opera
[She loves opera]
She, she loves opera
[She’s a metro soprano]
Oh yeah, I love opera, and dance
I’m a ballerina, operetta
[She’s a smooth operetta]
And scene. Thank you.
